Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best known for portraying detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she won an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of series like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. She was born as the only child to a senior executive of the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney had a family of four brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school eventually garnering commercials when she moved to New York. Her first role acting was as a young girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney, a young actress who was in her 20s, appeared in a variety of TV films and in dramas. As with her professional career but her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. She has been in the past accomplished actress battled alcoholism and had two marriages fall apart. In 2005, the actress lost custody over her only son.
